Cogita De Me

Here is the translation for "Think of Me."

Cogita de me, cogita de me amanter,
Cum "vale" diximus.
Memento me, omnis interdum
Quaeso, promitte temptabas.

Cum iterum aves
Capere tuam cordem et esse liber
Si temporis momentum habes
Parce cogitatonem mihi.

Diximus numquam noster amor sempervivus erat
Aut immutatus ut mare
Sed tamen meminisse potes
Subsiste et cogita de me

Cogita de me omnibus rebus
Partivius et vidimus
Cogita non de rebus
Quae fuerint

Cogita de me, cogita de me
Tacita sumissaque
Cogita de me, temptare
Ex meo animo delere te

Memento has dies
Respice in omnibus his temporibus
Cogita de omnibus rebus numquam faciemus
Erat numquam dies, cum de te non cogitabo

Diximus numquam noster amor sempervivus est
Aut immutatus ut mare
Sed tamen meminisse potes
Subsiste et cogita de me

Flores evanescunt, poma aestatis evanescunt,
Anni temporem habent; quoque habemus
Sed quaeso promitte iterdum
De me cogitabis

Here is the English.

Think of me, think of me fondly
When we've said goodbye
Remember me once in a while
Please promise me you'll try

When you find that once again you long
To take your heart back and be free
If you ever find a moment
Spare a thought for me

We never said our love was evergreen
Or as unchanging as the sea
But if you can still remember
Stop and think of me

Think of all the things
We've shared and seen
Don't think about the things
Which might have been

Think of me, think of me waking
Silent and resigned
Imagine me, trying too hard
To put you from my mind

Recall those days
Look back on all those times
Think of the things, we'll never do
There will never be a day, when I won't think of you

We never said our love was evergreen
Or as unchanging as the sea
But if you can still remember
Stop and think of me

Flowers fade, the fruits of summer fade
They have their seasons; so do we
But please promise me that sometimes
You will think of me

I've been thinking of maybe translating something else aside from this musical, but I'm not sure.  I guess we'll see next week.

Valete!

Spectrum Theatri Melodramatici

I have finished the title song of the play "The Phantom of the Opera."  Here it is, in both Latin and English.

CHRISTINA:
Dum somniebam mihi cantavit
Venit mihi in meis somniis
Haec vox mihi quod vocat et meum nomen dicit
Et somnione, quia nunc invenio
Spectrum theatri melodramatici adest
In mea mente
 SPECTRUM:
Canta iterum mihi
Nostrum insolitum bicinum
Mea potestas crescit
Quamuam verteris pone spectare
Spectrum theatri melodramatici adest
In tua mente
 CHRISTINA:
Hi tuam facietem qui vidunt
Sunt territi
Sum tuus mascus
Spectrum:
Audiunt me
 CHRISTINA ET SPECTRUM:
 Tua/mea spiritus
Et tua/mea vox
Sunt coniunctae
Spectrum theatri melodramatici
Est in mea/tua mente
CHORUS:
Adest, spectrum theatri melodramatici
Cave, spectrum theatri melodramatici
Adest, spectrum theatri melodramatici
Cave, spectrum theatri melodramatici
 SPECTRUM:
In tuis moniis
Scivisti semper
Vir et mysterium
 CHRISTINA:
Erant tibi
 CHRISTINA ET SPECTRUM:
Et in hoc labyrintho,
ubi nox caeca est,
Spectrum theatri melodramatici adest,
In tua/mea mente
CHRISTINA:
Adest, spectrum theatri melodramatici
SPECTRUM:
Angelus musicae!
Canta, meus angele musicae!
Canta, meus angele
Canta mihi
Canta, meus angele
Canta mihi!

Here is the English.

CHRISTINE
In sleep he sang to me
In dreams he came
That voice which calls to me and speaks my name
And do I dream again for now I find
The Phantom of the Opera is there
Inside my mind
PHANTOM
Sing once again with me
Our strange duet
My power over you grows stronger yet
And though you turn from me to glance behind
The Phantom of the Opera is there
Inside your mind.
CHRISTINE
Those who have seen your face
Draw back in fear
I am the mask you wear
PHANTOM
It's me they hear...
BOTH
Your/My spirit and my/your voice in one combined
The Phantom of the Opera is there/here
Inside my/your mind
BACKGROUND
He's there, the phantom of the opera!
Beware, the phantom of the opera!
He's there, the phantom of the opera!
Beware the phantom of the opera!
PHANTOM
In all your fantasies, you always knew
that man and mystery
CHRISTINE
Were both in you
BOTH
And in this labyrinth
where night is blind
the Phantom of the Opera is there/here,
inside my/your mind
CHRISTINE
He's there, the phantom of the opera
PHANTOM
The angel of music!
PHANTOM
Sing, my Angel of Music
Sing, my Angel
Sing for me
Sing, my Angel!
Sing for me!

Thank you for reading.
